/ ABSTRACT

A double bowstring arch typology with a 90 m span has been designed to carry the A-38 motorway over the Júcar River. Longitudinally, a continuous configuration of five spans has been adopted, with a total length of 216 m (27 + 36 + 90 + 36 + 27 m).

The deck width allows for a potential future widening of the carriageway, enabling the addition of an extra lane in each direction. This transverse configuration requires maintaining a clear distance of 29.00 m between the arches.

The longitudinal load-bearing structure is arranged outside the carriageway and consists of two steel box girders with a rectangular section and a constant depth of 1.65 m, except in the arch springing zones, where the depth increases to 2.85 m. This variation is integrated into the base of both arches.
